Micho is the Queen of the South

Sunday evening was a historical night for Thandolwenkosi Micho who was crowned the Queen of the South at a colourful pageant held at the Purple Heart Hall.

She beat seven other bevies to the crown at a tightly contested event.
After winning the top prize, Micho couldn’t contain her joy and described herself as “A confident beautiful girl willing to take the southern showbiz a step further”.
The pageant was organised by renowned model and youth, Chris Ncube, who recently represented Zimbabwe at a Man of World competition in the Philippines.

Ncube told Lotsha FM that the event was meant to develop talent in Beitbridge as well as market the town into matching national standards too.

“Queen of the South Pageant comes after the realization that Zimbabwean pageant systems often omit girls from the southern region and all castings are normally done in big cities like Gweru, Harare and Bulawayo,” he said.

“So, instead of joining those powerhouse cities, we have decided to create our own pageant and uplift our own girls instead of waiting for them to be picked by other organizations”.

The trailblazing youth also pledged to work hard to ensure that local talent is equally recognized worldwide.

“At the moment, I am working on enrolling the winner at an international contest. I believe that my current and previous queens are good enough for such a big stage,” he said.

The latest pageant comes after Ncube successfully hosted Miss Beitbridge recently where Shanaaz Banda took the crown. #LotshaFM90.1MHz
