Beitbridge Junior Councillor select leadership

A total of 21 junior councillors from Beitbridge district have selected their leadership for the Beitbridge Municipality and Beitbridge Rural District Council (BBRDC) at the end of a two days’ training held at the weekend.

The training was jointly hosted by the two local authorities between Saturday and Sunday.

The young policy makers were equipped with basic knowledge on their roles, governance, local authority’s department and their functions among other things.
At the end of the training Melvin Mbedzi (Ward 2) was voted the junior chairperson for the BBRDC, deputised by Believeme Mazibeli (Ward 4).

Jane Ndou (Ward 11) was voted the chief executive officer.
There are 15 rural wards under the BBRDC and six in the town.
Under the Municipality, Rejoice Muchanga (Ward 5) was voted mayor, with Nobuhle Sibanda settling as the Deputy Mayor and Tarryn Mudau becoming the Town Clerk. #LotshaFM90.1
