The curtain has come down on the two-day World Radio Day celebration that was held between 17 and 18 February at the Dulivhadzimu Stadium where upcoming radio presenters were tutored and natured.

The event was graced by veteran broadcasters; Leander Kandiero, Nyaradzo Makombe, Ruth Butaumocho, Mvelo Zondo, Njabulo Ncube, and Robson Mhandu among others who emphasised on discipline and hard work being the key to proper radio presentation.

To cap up the day was official launch of Ḽotsha FM, a community radio station that focuses on local issues, traditions and values was officially launched by the Minister of Information Mrs Monica Mutsvangwa.

She said for a radio station to earn respect and recognition, there has to be discipline and hard work from the sole custodians of the station.

A resident identified as Mr Mulaudzi said the birth of Ḽotsha FM is a milestone for the Venda community as it brings out issues in and around the area.

He said young people with various talents would benefit immensely from a wild array of programs the radio station was rolling out.
