Three people were injured when a donkey pulled cart they were travelling in was hit by a speeding vehicle near the intersection of the highways leading to Bulawayo and Harare on Tuesday.
The officer commanding police in Beitbridge, Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo said the cart commonly known as gariki in the Venda language was hit while crossing the road by a South African registered mini-bus that was travelling towards the border.
He said three men who incurred different injuries had been taken to the Beitbridge district hospital for medical attention, while the mini-bus driver has been charged for negligent driving.
