What is Epilepsy?

A disorder in which nerve cell activity in the brain is disturbed, causing seizures.

Epilepsy may occur as a result of a genetic disorder or an acquired brain injury, such as a trauma or stroke.

Symptoms of Epilepsy include:
1. Staring.
2. Temporary confusion.
3. Uncontrollable jerking movements of the arms and legs.
4. Stiffening of the body.
5. Loss of consciousness or awareness.
6. Breathing problems.
7. Loss of bowel or bladder control.
8. Falling suddenly for no apparent reason, especially when associated with loss of consciousness.
