Communal farmers and villagers in the Old Nuli area were left all happy yesterday following the shooting of a bull elephant that has long been terrorizing them.

Former school head, and educationist who is also senior resident in Old Nuli, Vho Ntshavheni Simutha Ndou told Lotsha FM that the elphant was shot dead last night.

The jumbo was shot by rangers from Three Way Safaris while ravaging crops inside one of the communal field.

The guning down of the elephant has come as a great relief to the community.

A number of villages in Beitbridge district have raised similar concerns over the dangers and threats of elephants that destroy their yields especially during the summer cropping season.
