Zimbabwe celebrates world customs day at Beitbridge border post

Zimbabwe today celebrated world customs day at Beitbridge border post.
The proceedings were led by Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) under the theme “customs engaging traditional and new partners with a purpose” which suggest a focus on collaboration.
Zimra commissioner general, Ms Regina Chinamsa commended local, regional and international stakeholders for their cooperation and support which has enabled the organisation to deliver on its mandate as expected.
She said authority will continue engaging new and old partners to boost service delivery at the same time removing trade barriers.
Speaking on behalf of the World Customs Organisation (WCO), Mr Batsirai Chadzingwa encouraged customs authorities to build relationships not only with traditional partners but with new ones as well.
He also emphasized on adapting to changing global dynamics.
He further mentioned that the approach also aims to enhance cooperation and address challenges in customs and international trade effectively.
The event was graced by various stakeholders among them officials from the South Africa Revenue Services (SARS) and Border Management Authority (BMA).
